Death Row Dog Rescue Diana Peters/Ft Lauderdale FL Collected money for dogs she said she had in boarding that were in OUR shelter and never heard of

I am a volunteer at Animal Control of West Florida (Chipley FL shelter) and was informed that someone was posting one of our dogs and her pups on their site and collecting money for them. I looked up Death Row Dog Rescue FB site and there was a picture of Polly and her pups and it was stated that Diana Peters had them in boarding and that they needed help with funds because she had no room in her house. I commented on the tread as to why she was posting our dogs, saying she had them in boarding when they were, in fact, sitting in our shelter waiting to die. She deleted my comment and blocked me from making any more comments. The shelter never heard of her or from her. Someone sent me the emails of those who had donated at the time (over $300) and I emailed them and said she does not have our dogs and you sent her money under false information. She would not return money to those who asked. Just this week, I was informed she was at it again. This time using another dog Petey and saying she was helping to get him out and that she would help with transport. The shelter will not deal with her and we have a transport coordinator and did not need her help or ask for her help. In the post though, she had a person's name Lori that donations can be sent to and the shelter had never heard of her. I called the number and the "Lori" would not answer my questions as to why she was collecting money for Petey and who was she affiliated with. She hung up on me and refused to answer the phone again. I have seen her post many dogs on her site that I know she does not have but makes others think she does. The shelter has never received any of the monies that she collected in their names and the shelter will not deal with her. She needs to be investigated. She has no know source of income except these donations and is renting a house, etc. I am making this report as I am hoping that people will stop sending her money and if they were smart, would ask to send directly to the veterinary office. If she wants to be legit, she will have a vet office that money can be sent to make sure it goes to the dogs. She will find an excuse as to why she has to have the money sent to her instead, so she can spend it the way she needs to live on. Anyone who wants to know the truth about Polly & her pups (we did find a rescue to take them 2 weeks later) and Petey, they can call the shelter directly and talk to the manager. They will confirm these statements to be true.

I am now an ex volunteer of Diana Peters / Death Row Dog Rescue - Save a Death Row Dog . (*also known by other names.. add ranch in, redlands rescue, Diana's Death Row Dogs, etc )
and I can attest to the fact of Diana pimping dogs pictures up on facebook, and solicit funds under the guise she has or is getting/helping the dogs pictured in some way.

The sad truth she was not, and she took advantage of a shelters dog and kept the monies collected .
She has admitted over and over again that she LIVES off the donations, she has no job.

She claims to be a 501c3 non profit ... but personally I do not know of any non profits that just 'spend the money' and not document it. Diana Peters pays her rent, cigarettes, electric, wine, cable, water, vehicle costs, groceries etc with funds donated to her and denies dogs the necessary quarantine and vetcare needed to insure their health and the health of all the other dogs in her care.

SHAME ON YOU Diana Peters! This is a disgrace.

Am I against someone saving dogs? NO but am I against someone taking advantage of others, fraudulently soliciting donations, and neglecting dogs in their care ? YES.

When I helped her at first I was oblivious to what she was doing and I too believed her lies, even when they didn't seem to make much sense. You have to understand Ms Peters is a salesperson. over the years she had many pop up and down anitique / reproduction businesses. looking over her public records in florida alone you can see that she has an interesting (questionable history)... but that is just my opinion.

I became an EX - volunteer after witnessing Diana Peters manipulation, and lies concerning the Polly and her Piglets incident. This just days after I first was seeing her true colors when she scammed donations for 'GAS' money for dogs she never got coming out of Georgia.

My husband and I both saw the picture she had up of Polly and her Piglets on her page(now of course they are deleted) BUT, don't worry we have screen shots, but, In the meantime it can still be seen on another facebook page Save-A -Pet Animal Rescue http://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-A-Pet-Animal-Rescue/195168200541436 under Friday August 26th. 2:02 pm

WHO DOES THIS? who collects money for a dog they have no ties to, for their own benefit ?

Why is it not VIVIDLY clear that DONATIONS FOR DOGS DO NOT GO TO SHELTERS? In particular PRIVATE SHELTERS...OR VOLUNTEERS OF SHELTERS...THEY GO TO THE DOG!!! This is my thought in the REAL WORLD WHERE GRAVITY APPLIES AND THE IRS LIVES.
