I wasnot surprised when I got here to realize that Josh Hack had ripped someone else off. If you have a conversation with most of the people that have ever worked with Josh Hack in a band or in a business deal, it's always about him winning no matter what he has to do to make it happen. If it's about money, he's the guy freaking out if the gas pump doesn't stop on the exact rounded dollar amount. I've even watched him continue to pump gas into a full tank that was
overflowing onto the ground because he needed it to be on the dollar. I am not making that up, this is how anal he is about money. Anyway....Not only is he taking credit for work he watched Andrew Burn do, he screwed over the poor guy and took his dream away from him which was Virtuo Studios. He is a bully with his money and power and worked his way into a position to take it from him. Named and built by Andrew Burn. Andrew was the only one that had a clue on how to be an engineer and producer. He was the one that stayed up night after night to get the right sound. He was obsessed with his work and for Josh to say he was lazy is a lie. Josh is the one that had Andrew in the studio recording me instead of him because he knew he was incompetent. Andrew did way more work than Josh did on the recording side of things, and had the experience to make it happen, unlike Josh. The only thing Josh was good at was interior decorating and polishing the turd that is Virtuo Studios. Dont let the appearance of that place fool you, the reason your paying the rates he charges its definitely not for the quality of the recording, its for the pretty walls and ceiling in there that he should have invested in a school to teach him the trade. It's actually funny to see how Josh Hack squirms to evade these accurate accusations and allegations about him trying to take credit for things he was and still is not qualified to accomplish. I also like the way hes whining like a baby about some racial slurs when hes the kind of guy that will use multiple vulgarities and insults to put you down. I dont know of many people that are better at shooting insults and degrading people once that side of him comes out. Josh is a drummer, not a studio engineer. I urge you to take advantage of one of the thousands of amazing studios and engineers available to you in the Atlanta area before you go to a rookie like Josh Hack. I wasted thousands of dollars to commute to Atlanta to help his new studio get off the ground. I could have easily stayed home and saved money, but being a friend of Joshs (I thought) and Andrew, I felt compelled to contribute. The only reason I felt good about it was because Andrew was behind the console. Except for two days where Josh ran things. As a result of just these two days, due to his inexperience, my lead tracks were over driven and I had to re record them, and due to Joshs crappy mic placement on the kit, I had to re record all but one drum track out of six songs. Not to mention he was running a PC that crashed several times and I lost about 7 crucial vocal takes that are never the same twice. Ironically it would crash at the end of the song every time. I felt like putting my foot through the glass of the booth. But I took a deep breathe and proceeded to throw my money away, being more tolerant and patient than he deserved. Having to reboot the computer everytime also took way too much time, but, I was still getting billed for it. In his defense, he gave me more studio time in his shithole to make up for it instead of refunding my money. I also had Russ Fowler mix one of my songs for $500. I ended up not being able to use it because the lead tracks were distorted and they were supposed to be clean. I started asked Josh to possibly help me out with some of the money I wasted trying to help him establish his studio and he immediately told me to fuck off! Youre not getting one cent. Hell never come off of any money for any reason, youll have to fight him in court. Which I started to do until I realized it is almost impossible to win this kind of case because its all objective and speculative. So realizing this, I bowed out stopped pursuing it and left him alone. At one point before I stopped, I started to tell his wife about the multiple affairs he had on the road when we were in Destin, Fla, Panama City Beach, Fla, Alaska, and Key West with our band Note 4 Note. I have several pics to this day of some of the girls he cheated on her with. It is basically a loaded gun. It was pitiful to see him talking to his wife on the phone the next day or even just hours after the girls
left. So anyway, in order to spare his wife Stephanie Hack from even more pain, I decided to say I made it up so she
wouldnt have to see what a promiscuous slut he really is. Youre probably wondering why Im stating this, the reason is, I let him off the hook big time, only to receive more emails insulting and degrading my character and threatening to
f*ck me up if he ever saw me again. I let this all go a long time ago until recently, he emailed me again, BTW, my nickname for him is the email warrior because he types a big game. And that was the straw that broke the camels
back. Josh Hack is a crook. He has many former bandmates and business partners that want nothing to do with him. That is a fact. Go look at how many band members hes gone through in all of the projects that he controls. He is a control freak, a money grubber, and a selfish individual. Ok, I think Im done wasting my afternoon on the biggest scam Ive ever experienced at Virtuo Recording Studios and dealing with Josh Hack. Go to another studio. Avoid this troll! |

josh hack is not a crook. ive worked with him several times now. if you want the facts..yes, virtuo (using pc) has had problems in the past with crashes and reboots. this happened with both, andrew and josh. it has to do with the programs, not the engineers. this is no longer a problem.
josh cares a lot about the projects that he records, so much that he tends to not pay attention to the clock, but he DOES NOT charge you for more time than you had booked with him. as a matter of fact, twice, i have had a problem where my money was unable to be gotten a hold of at the end of the session. i was allowed to reimburse virtuo as soon as i could.
virtuo's professionalism is overshadowed by all of the personal grievances brought on by a fall-out between two great engineers. at the end of the day, virtuo has an awesome recording space, plenty of tools, and a great engineer to get you the sound you need.
two things you need to know about recording:
1. an engineer cannot create talent.
2. the studio is only the second step to having a finished product.

The man is not a Crook. And as from the looks of it, you should have spent more time writing better material. A good song translates no matter what quality of recording you put to it. So, I'd think it safe to say that you wrote and recorded a couple songs that, turns out, not a lot of people want to listen to. It even seems as though, that your circle jerk buddy Andrew (which I have met bet before, and is good guy) couldn't save your project. (You quote him being so skilled at the sound board and staying up late nights to work with you.)
But what a coward you are to put something like this online. Grow up, shit happens. Sometimes you try hard and nothing comes of it. As expansive as this industry is, you can't blame one person, during one circumstance on your total failure. You'll have more opportunities. You just gotta keep pluggin away. Staying on the grind. That's how this industry works. I say this, because you sound like a child, and your blog post probably goes much deeper than a "bad experience." I think it's obvious you got paid a reality check and realized this tough business.
Virtuo Studios is not a pre-school. If you can't color within the lines, no one is going to come over and sweet talk to you while they hold your hand steady. It is a music studio. It is where creativity meets capability. You are working with bigger gear, bigger sounds, and less limits. If you needed production help, should have brought it in. Virtuo allows that. If something didn't sound the way you liked it, change it before your finished with record. No need to dissect your blog much further. You have so many cracks in your petty complaints that any experienced artist can easily see through it.
Lastly, you are chicken shit for bringing his family into this. No matter what "facts" have. That is another man's house. You are nothing to the strength that holds a family together. They operate on a much more sacred bond, than to deal with your "I've got pictures" kabookie. You do no one's wife any favors. Your ego unfortunately lets you think that.
Don't worry. You aren't the only fool who's had buyers remorse and decided to take it to the internet. Just don't get caught up in your self righteousness. Life's too short to hold a grudge. Live and Learn. Not everyone was meant to be best friends. Sometimes partnerships don't work out. Happens all the time in business. Life's not meant to be daffodils and rainbows. There's multiple sides to every situation. You don't see Andrew blogging. You're not defending him. He doesn't need it. Great work speaks for itself. I don't doubt he is a great engineer. And because of that he'll find something better. Like a bad break-up, it's not the end. Just a new beginning.
I see it's been a few months when you wrote this. I hope you have calmed down and tried to take your revolution someplace useful.
